Preparing for gunnery with the unit’s Bradley Fighting Vehicles, engineer crews begin the morning preparing for gunnery qualifications.
Continuing annual training with the Idaho Army National Guard on the Orchard Combat Training Center, the 116th Brigade Engineer Battalion arrived in the field in mid June engaging several key exercises to sharpen their unit and mission skills.
The 116th Brigade Engineer Battalion enables the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team with engineer, military intelligence and communication assets. The unit is headquartered in Twin Falls, Idaho and has engineer units spread through the Idaho communities of Gooding, Grangeville, Moscow, Mountain Home and Orofino. Its signal and military intelligence companies are located in Boise and its forward support company is located in Jerome.
