SAN DIEGO (Jul. 29, 2021) Gunner’s Mate 1st Class Christopher Clarke, left, from Chicago, Ill. and Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Michael Trombino III, from Wildomar, Calif., assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), clear a portion of the pier for a simulated active shooter evolution during an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) exercise on board Naval Base San Diego. The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats.
