Sgt. 1st Class Kevin Aleckna, senior enlisted advisor for Area Support Group (ASG) Poland, is followed by Col. Jorge Fonseca, ASG Commander before laying a wreath in support of the 77th anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising in Poznań, Poland, Aug. 1, 2021. The uprising was an attempt by the Polish Underground Resistance to rid Warsaw of the Nazi regime by attacking days before the Soviet Army could capture the city from the Nazis. Although the initial plan met unforeseen circumstances, and the Poles suffered severe losses, the Soviet military eventually stepped in and sent the Nazis on their way. (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt.
