U.S. Marine Cpl. Matthew Estes, a gunner with Fox Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, provides security for a patrol during the division rifle squad competition on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Califorina, Aug. 1, 2021. The competition was designed to test the Marines’ skills and determine the best squad within 4th MarDiv as well as raise the standard of tactical excellence throughout the division.
