GULF OF TADJOURA (August 6, 2021) U.S. Navy Engineman 2nd Class Benjamin Ariaslicea, from La Puente, Calif., attached to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Eleven (MSRON-11), based at Camp Lemonnier, positions his patrol boat while on watch in the Gulf of Tadjoura, August 6, 2021. Camp Lemonnier (CLDJ) serves as an expeditionary base for U.S. military forces providing, support to ships, aircraft, and personnel that ensure security throughout Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia. CLDJ enables maritime and combat operations in the Horn of Africa, while fostering positive U.S. – Africa relations. The base is also home to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, with an area of responsibility including: Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Yemen.
