On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, NMCCL’s Medical Service Corps Officers and staff members celebrated the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps birthday!
“Despite the challenges of this past year, I have seen a recommitment to professionalism, military bearing, military education, and cutting edge research. It is through the efforts of the Navy’s most diverse corps we are a force for global health and the military medical center that provides unmatched superior family-centered care across all disciplines,” stated our Commander and Director, Captain Reginald S. Ewing III during the opening remarks. “I am humbled and honored to serve with the officers of the Medical Service Corps. Thank you MSC officers and happy 74th birthday.”
Since 1947, the MSC has been serving health care through science, clinical support and administration. The Medical Service Corps has active duty and reserve officers serving in various operational units, training and research commands, occupational and
preventive medicine units, material and logistic support commands and headquarter commands.
The traditional cake-cutting ceremony honored the most senior and junior members of NMCCL’s MSC members: Captain Leslie Riggs and LTJG Peterlin.
