Specialist Hanul Yi, left, receives a sample for COVID-19 pool testing from Cpl. Evan Scott at Hangar 3, Aug. 23, 2020. Both Soldiers are medics assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Bastogne Soldiers were tested for COVID-19 prior to their departure for the Joint Readiness Training Center-Fort Polk, La. By prioritizing resources and services across the installation, instituting virus batch testing and maximizing support assets, the garrison helped position the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) to conduct the Army’s first two JRTC rotations in a COVID-19 environment with a less than 2% positive test rate.
