210804-N-TA290-1010 HONOLULU (August 4, 2021) Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center (NAVSUP FLC) Pearl Harbor conducts oil spill response training. During training exercises, the fuels team performs skimming operations, which are designed to contain and recover oil on the surface of the water. This minimizes impacts to the environment.
The training exercises focus on containment and recovery strategies, tactics to deploy and maintain the skimmers, and proper personal protective equipment.
NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor’s Fuel Department is the DoD’s largest fuel terminal, storing and issuing petroleum products in support of fuel requirements across Hawaii as well as the Indo-Pacific region.
