APRA HARBOR, Guam (Aug. 11, 2021) Gunner’s Mate 1st Class Andrew Suhrer, from Coos Bay, Ore., screws in the barrel of an MK-46 30-mm gun weapon system during routine maintenance operations aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6). The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats.
