A large field near a row of barracks is being prepared to provide a soccer field and recreational area for the arrival of Afghan evacuees at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Aug. 18, 2021. The Department of Defense, in support of the Department of State, is providing transportation and temporary housing in support of Operation Allies Refuge. This initiative follows through on America's commitment to Afghan citizens who have helped the United States, and provides them essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan.
