William Zana, commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), speaks with U.S. Navy junior officers during a ship tour of the guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) at the Port of Djibouti, July 31, 2021. Service members from Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, were invited to tour the USS Monterey while it was at the port. The USS Monterey is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
