NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Aug. 16, 2021) - Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Hunter Cole, an X-ray technician assigned to the dental department aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), places an X-ray device in the mouth of Logistics Specialist 3rd Class Will Summers, a supply clerk assigned to George Washington's supply department. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipbuilding. RCOH is a multi-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repairs, upgrades, and modernization.
