A U.S. Army soldier from the 301st Maneuver Brigade, from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, surveys and directs fellow soldiers as they load M30 Bridge Erection Boats with the necessary supplies to carry out a Wet Bridge Crossing on the Columbia River, at the Yakima Training Center in Washington on August 16, 2021. The boats, once on the water, would be responsible for attaching the different segments of Improved Ribbon Bridges for use in transporting vehicles and personnel across the river. The Wet Gap Crossing incorporated both active duty and reserve engineer units from the Pacific Northwest to ensure the readiness and functionality to provide support in mobility operations.
