U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) move away from the aircraft after connecting a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System to a CH-53 Helicopter during a Helicopter Support Team training in support of exercise Noble Union on Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 19, 2021. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
