A transfer of authority ceremony was conducted at Camp Film City, Pristina, Kosovo on Saturday, August 14, 2021. The outgoing command team of the Balkan National Support Element, Lt. Col. James Grimaldi and Command Sgt. Maj. William Adams transferred command authority of the BNSE to incoming commander Maj. Jasen Boyd and CSM Matthew Lang. Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines of the BNSE, along with a variety of distinguished guests, were in attendance for the ceremony.
The Vermont Battle Flag flies with the American Flag after the transfer of authority was official. The new command team comes from the Vermont National Guard.
