Staff Sgt. Jennifer M. Woolums, assigned to the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is the first female infantry drill instructor and first non-infantry military occupational specialty inducted as a Distinguished Member of the Regiment for the 58th Infantry Regiment at Infantry One Station Unit Training on Sand Hill at Fort Benning, Georgia, April 2021. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, marks the 48th Anniversary of Women’s Equality Day and a time to recognize the pioneering accomplishments of women in uniform like Woolums who serve the nation.
