Australian Army Lt. Luka Cubelic, a joint fires team commander with 115 Battery, 8/12 Regiment, conducts a call for fire during Exercise Koolendong at Bradshaw Field Training Area, NT, Australia, Aug. 29, 2021. Call for fire is a request for artillery fire to a fire support coordination center that is coordinated, deconflicted and sent to an artillery unit to fire. Exercises like Koolendong demonstrate Marine Rotational Force - Darwin’s ability to conduct operations as a combined force with the Australian Defence Force, execute expeditionary operations and exemplify their mutual dedication to being postured and ready to respond to a crisis or contingency in the Indo-Pacific region.
