Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force JoAnne S. Bass points and comments on the design of the unit patch of Staff Sgt. Danielle DeMello, 154th Medical Group Detachment 1 aerospace medical service technician, during a visit to Hawaii Air National Guard facilities located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Aug. 31, 2021. DeMello’s unit patch incorporated a surfboard as part of its design elements and served as a corresponding talking point to one of Chief Bass’s priorities - culture. Bass' stop at the Hawaii ANG campus was part of a larger visit with Airmen stationed throughout JBPH-H in which she discussed priorities such as readiness, people and culture.
