Volunteers from the Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, and Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., communities pose for a photo Sept. 3, 2021 on Holloman, N.M. Volunteers from Cannon collected and delivered a donation valued at $80,000 to be given to Afghan evacuees in support of Operation Allies Welcome. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for up to 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
