A unique set of “Eagle, globe, and anchor” collar devices are worn by U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Isaac Seals V, platoon commander for the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Sept. 10, 2021. Signifying the turnover of the billet of Silent Drill Platoon platoon commander, the collar devices originally belonged to U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Holland “Howlin Mad” Smith, and have been passed down from every Silent Drill Platoon platoon commander since 1989. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Brandon Aultman)
