Volunteers for ask-Force Eagle at Ft. Lee Va., helps sort donated clothing Sept. 10, 2021. Non-Governmental Organizations at Fort Lee say they have received enough donations to sustain the Afghan families transitioning through the post. The Department of Defense, in support of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State, is providing transportation and temporary housing in support of Operation Allies Welcome. The initiative follows through on America’s commitment to Afghan citizens who have helped the United States, and provides them essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan.
