U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Stevie Rushing assumed command of the 158th Airlift Squadron, 165th Airlift Wing, on September 12, 2021 from Lt. Col. Brian Zwicker who was the commander for nearly two years. "Lt. Col. Zwicker completed a demanding, bt very successful command," said Col. Sheldon Wilson, commander of the 165th Operations Group, " During his tour, he overcame challenges of COVID-19 while simultaneously supporting the unit's State and Federal mission." Lt. Col. Rushing began his Air Force career as an enlisted member and brings over 26 years of experience in the military some of which was spent as a Combat Systems Operator, Installation Deployment Officer and Director of Operations, Wilson said.
