For Army National Guard Soldier Sgt. Forrest Moreland, he wears a different uniform when not on duty with the military – a yellow fireproof suit and black leather boots – also known as his Hotshot uniform. A Hotshot is a very skilled, technical, and tactical firefighter who fights wildland fires at their hottest points.
Moreland is a crewmember of the Diamond Mountain Hotshots based in Susanville, California and a Signal Support Specialist in the West Virginia Army National Guard’s 111th Engineer Brigade.
