173rd Airborne Brigade

U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne) conduct a joint airborne operation with Serbian special operations paratroopers from the 63rd Parachute Brigade as part of Exercise Skybridge 21 at the Medja Training Area in Niš, Serbia on Sept. 16, 2021.

Skybridge 21 is a bi-lateral training exercise taking place in Serbia from Sept. 13 - 17, 2021. Paratroopers of both the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade, Serbian Armed Forces are working alongside supporting components in order to conduct a joint force airborne operation with a training aerial humanitarian aid package delivery. This exercise enhances the interoperability of allied and partner nations by demonstrating the unit’s ability to readily respond to any crisis.

The 173d Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, Africa and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
