PENSACOLA, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2021) Rear Adm. Pete Garvin, commander, Naval Education and Training Command, operates the new Naval Introductory Flight Evaluation (NIFE) Cessna 172 simulator during a visit to Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC). This new simulator better prepares students for the flight phase of NIFE in a safe and cost-efficient environment, while under instructor supervision. With the introduction of NIFE training at NASC, the use of simulators is now part of the earliest stages of naval aviation training. (U.S. Navy photo by Ensign Nick Valentine)
