    1st Theater Sustainment Command

    Maj. Gen. Michel M. Russell, Sr., commanding general, 1st Theater Sustainment Command, and Command Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Perry III, recognize Spc. Pantoja and Spc. Aguilar, Soldiers assigned to various Task Force Spartan units, for their professionalism and dedication to mission during a battlefield circulation tour, Thursday, Sept 2, 2021. During this visit, the command team took the opportunity to receive updates on operations and visit with Soldiers.

    Task Force Spartan serves as the headquarters element for Operation Spartan Shield. OSS is the U.S. effort to strengthen defense relationships, build partner capacity, and when necessary, execute contingency plans within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Soldiers assigned to the Fort Belvoir, Virginia based 29th Infantry Division make up the headquarters staff for Task Force Spartan, support U.S. Army Central, and coordinate the operational efforts of subordinate units within the ARCENT area of responsibility.
