U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Denia Madrid, a native of Long Island, New York and Lance Cpl. Paul Guerrero, a native of Chicago, Illinois, both artillerymen with 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, ground guide an ambulance through temporary housing for Afghan civilians on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, Sept. 18, 2021. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
