On the cusp of Mink Bayou, one home remains standing. At the same time, remanents of people's lives can be found scattered where several homes once stood in Golden Meadow, Lafourche Parish, La. Approximately 14,000 people were displaced when Hurricane Ida destroyed or damaged 75% of the structures there. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo by Brigida I. Sanchez)
