Destiny Childress, the wife of a Marine Stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, holds a picture of Sgt. Nicole Gee, a Marine killed while assisting in the evacuations at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on Aug. 26 2021, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, Sept. 2, 2021. The MCAS Cherry Point community came together to create a memorial for the fallen.
