KINGS BAY, Ga. (July 12, 2021) - Megan Kafitz, a dental hygienist at Naval Branch Health Clinic Kings Bay, performs an annual cleaning with a sailor. Kafitz, a native of Tallahassee, Florida, says, "Dental hygiene is a key component of military readiness. There are many direct correlations between oral health and the overall health of the body. Certain bacteria in the mouth have been linked to heart disease, Alzheimer's, and depression, to name a few.” (U.S. Navy photo by Deidre Smith, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released). #FacesofNHJax
