Waves crash into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District’s, Hopper Dredge MURDEN during 24/7 dredging operations near Ocean City, Md., Sept. 20, 2021. Throughout the MURDEN's visit, the entirety of the Assateague bypass cycle and the additional Inlet-only dredging took place while crews daily removed one load. Teams also placed the dredged material south of the Inlet off the coast of the north end of Assateague, which helps stabilize the island due to constant erosion. (U.S. Army photo by Greg Nash)
