U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 provide air support to a ground element in an AH-1W Cobra during a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel (TRAP) mission aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Oct. 3, 2021. TRAP is a mission part of an ongoing Realistic Urban Training (RUT) exercise, and it prepares Marines to insert in hostile environments to tactically extract personnel, recover aircraft and retrieve or destroy sensitive material. During RUT, the MEU receives a series of mock orders designed to replicate the types of missions it’s likely to face during its deployment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Shaehmus Sawyer)
