A U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), makes movement to a demolition site at the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 2, 2021. Marines conducted an advanced demolitions range to increase proficiency in handling expedient demolitions, as well as an opportunity for engineers to employ armor defeating demolitions to add redundancies to the organic anti-armor capabilities of the maneuver element. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
