PATUXENT RIVER, Maryland (Oct. 1, 2021) - Members of the NAS Patuxent River Search and Rescue (SAR) "SAR Dogs" squadron train in nighttime water rescue techniques at the Patuxent River Aviation Survival Training Center. With the motto “So others may live,” the mission of the naval aviation rescue swimmer is to execute search and rescue operations from rotary wing aircraft, possibly in treacherous conditions, and they must be mentally and physically able to carry out that mission.
