Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Minister of Defense Juansher Burchuladze sign a memorandum of understanding setting up the cooperative effort between the two nations at the Georgian Ministry of Defense, Tbilisi, Georgia, Oct. 18, 2021. The goal of the understanding is to help the Georgia Defense Ministry become more efficient and more effective and NATO interoperable. Georgian Along with Georgia, Austin will visit allies in Ukraine and Romania to reaffirm U.S. support for sovereignty and territorial integrity and underscore the importance of the strategic partnerships in addressing regional and global security challenges.
