U.S. Army Soldiers from Task Force Ever Vigilant, Kosovo Police, and Kosovo Security Forces assist U.S.-affiliated Afghans board a bus at the Pristina International Airport Kosovo en route to Camp Liya on October 16, 2021.
During their temporary stay at Camp Liya, Afghan families receive housing, medical, and logistical support from Task Force Ever Vigilant, consisting of Soldiers from the 15th Engineer Battalion and the 18th Military Police Brigade of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command. These units quickly deployed to Kosovo in August to assist and coordinate withU.S. Embassy, Pristina, while Afghans were processed before approval for resettlement in the United States.
