U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Michael E. Langley, Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic (FMFLANT), Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), Marine Forces Northern Command (MARFORNORTH) commander, establishes his intentions and expectations as the incoming commander during the succession of command ceremony at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Virginia, Oct. 25, 2021. Lt. Gen. Robert F. Hedelund, the outgoing commander, relinquished his duties to Maj. Gen. Michael E. Langley. The commander is responsible for proper employment and support of Marine Corps Forces and executing developmental procedures to fulfill the Service-retained operating forces in support of the Combatant Commander.
