1st Lt. Daniel Guerrero, 25th Fighter Wing Squadron A-10 Thunderbolt II pilot, stands with the A-10 static display at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition, also known as Seoul ADEX 21, Oct. 21, 2021. Seoul ADEX 21 is the largest, most comprehensive event of its kind in Northeast Asia, attracting aviation and aerospace professionals, key defense personnel, aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike. The A-10 was designed for close air support (CAS) of friendly ground troops, attacking armored vehicles and tanks and providing quick-action support against enemy ground forces. It entered service in 1976 and is the only production-built aircraft that has served in the USAF that was designed solely for CAS. Its secondary mission is to provide forward air controller-airborne support by directing other aircraft in attacks on ground targets.
