ATLANTIC OCEAN (Oct. 27, 2021) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Essence Allen, from Houston, sets chocks and chains on an MH-60R Sea Hawk, assigned to the “Vipers” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48, on the flight deck of the Navy’s newest guided-missile destroyer, the future USS Daniel Inouye (DDG118). Daniel Inouye is making its maiden voyage, transiting to its home port of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, prior to its commissioning in December.
