U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group, conduct cache drops of water and rations in the central training area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 24th, 2021. CLB-4 deployed an ultra-light logistics package consisting of Marines from various occupational specialties to sustain first echelon forces from Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines in a simulated expeditionary advanced base operations environment. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
