Operation Allies Welcome - Operation Allies Refuge

Pfc. Tristin Davidson, an infantryman, pushes boxes of sewing supplies to Spc. Kelvin Abutiate, a power-generation specialist, both assigned to 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, and supporting Task Force McCoy, as they unload a truck at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Oct. 26, 2021, as part of Operation Allies Welcome. The Women and Children’s Center opened a second sewing shop on Fort McCoy for Afghan personnel who want to make their own clothing. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan evacuees essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc. Caitlin Wilkins, 50th Public Affairs Detachment)
