YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 15, 2021) - A Sailor supporting the Yokosuka Post Office as a volunteer, repairs damaged packages to assist NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka's postal team.
At this time of year, the Yokosuka Post Office enters its peak season, where personnel handle more than 2,400 pounds of mail daily in support of forward deployed ships and shore commands onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka.
During the holiday period, the Yokosuka post office brings in augmentee support in the form of volunteers, contractors, temporary hires and U.S. Navy Reservists to get assistance for their around-the-clock operations.
