The New York Army National Guard (NYARNG) 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division World War I Veterans Day annual memorial service was held on November 6th, 2021, at the 42nd Infantry Division World War I Memorial in Garden City, NY. A
memorial wreath was present and saluted by Bert Cunningham, 69th Regiment Veterans Corps Historian and retired Brigadier General Pat Alesia, President 42d Infantry (Rainbow) Division Association.
The service commemorates the history and service of the 42nd Infantry Division during World War I, and is held at the former site of Camp Mills, which was the birthplace of the 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division where soldiers would train prior to departing for overseas combat during World War I.
