SAN DIEGO (Nov. 8, 2021) Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro (left) meets with Capt. David Markle, deputy commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, during a visit to Naval Special Warfare (NSW) commands in the San Diego area. During the visit, Del Toro spent time with NSW personnel to discuss ongoing digital transformation and innovation efforts, integrating NSW assets with the Fleet, and assessing and selecting leaders with character, cognitive and leadership attributes. Naval Special Warfare is the nation's premier maritime special operations force, uniquely positioned to extend the fleet's reach and deliver all-domain options for naval and joint force commanders.
