General Paul Funk II's wife and son celebrate following a special halftime ceremony in Funk's honor at the final Fort Knox Middle/High School football game of the season October 29. The Fort Knox Eagles honored Funk, commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and former Eagle football star, with a jersey retirement ceremony during halftime of the final game of the 2021 season. Funk's former coaches surprised him by attending the leader's homecoming ceremony and he attributed his initial leadership training to his mentors. Funk's wife, youngest son, and other family members and friends were in attendance for the momentous occasion. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Nicholas Brown-Bell)
