Drill Sergeant, (Sgt. 1st Class) Ricardo Lobo pushes retired Lt. Col. James Thompson’s wheelchair while trainees awaiting the start of Basic Combat Training salute the veteran of three 20th century wars. Lobo saw Thompson’s hat with WWII, Korea, Vietnam Veteran on it and struck up a conversation with the 97-year-old Army veteran. He then arranged the day to honor the distinguished veteran and make an impression on the new trainees.
