A U.S. Marine Corps compact track loader assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, is attached to the bottom the bottom of a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter while being external lifted during a field exercise at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 3, 2021. MWSS-172 held this exercise in order to a show proof of concept for external lifts, to build on the Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations concept, and to improve the engineer company’s combat effectiveness in an expeditionary jungle warfare environment.
