211116-N-OT701-2101 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (Nov. 16, 2021) The U.S. Navy’s newest guided-missile destroyer, the future USS Daniel Inouye (DDG 118) sails near Kahului, Maui as Sailors man the rails. Daniel Inouye is making its maiden voyage, transiting to its home port of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, prior to its commissioning in December. Inouye is conducting a tour through the Hawaiian Islands to pay tribute to the memory and legacy of the late Senator Daniel K. Inouye and his lengthy career of service to the people of Hawaii.
