U.S. Marine Gen. David H. Berger, the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, and Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, the 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, lead a Headquarters Marine Corps formation run to the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, Nov. 9, 2021. The run was conducted in honor of the 246th Marine Corps birthday. A formation run is a traditional way units across the Marine Corps can celebrate the Marine Corps in addition to the cake cutting ceremony. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Victoria Ross)
