Aircraft assigned to the Fort Bragg, North Carolina, based 82nd Aviation Combat Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, sit ready for retrograde operations at the Port of Shuaiba, Kuwait, Nov. 10, 2021. The Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, based 1100th Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group oversaw the preparations for the retrograde—which included completing engine rinses and washes and folding the rotor blades—of more than 30 aircraft from Nov. 7-12. The Soldiers and aircraft were deployed to Afghanistan to support base closures and the U.S. military’s exit from the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.
